Program Description

This Master's Course aims to ensure a specialization of an academic nature using the activity of research and innovation, and aims to study the processes of life and human responses sensitive to nursing care.

The concept of Advanced Nursing is associated with professional thinking centered on a conceptual logic, which uses the available disciplinary knowledge and scientific method to investigate work contexts and potentially sensitive human responses to nursing care, in order to expand disciplinary knowledge, the decision making skills of nurses and consequently the therapeutic proposals of nursing.

The course aims to train nurses with an integrative vision and transformative capacity, able to investigate and "advance" the Nursing, focusing on the training of people in the face of health challenges, thus showing measurable results that attest to their contribution to society.

Focused on the development of research skills, this course prepares for the challenges of achieving a PhD in Nursing.

The degree of master is conferred to those who demonstrate:

  • Possess knowledge and capacity of deep understanding in the area of Advanced Nursing;
  • To know how to apply their knowledge and ability to understand and solve problems in new situations, in broad and multidisciplinary contexts, to investigate areas sensitive to nursing care;
  • Ability to integrate knowledge resulting from research, to deal with complex issues, to make judgments in situations of limited or incomplete information, including reflections on the implications and ethical and social responsibilities;
  • To be able to communicate the results of research, both to specialists and non-experts, in a clear and unambiguous manner.
